This journey takes you through some of southern Spain's most stunning landscapes, combining cycling adventures with cultural exploration. You'll pedal through scenic cereal fields, olive orchards, and almond groves before arriving at the picturesque village of Castril, with its steep streets, whitewashed houses, and the dramatic Peña de Castril. The route continues south to Negratín Lake, where the terrain shifts to a desert-like landscape, and you'll have the chance to relax in the naturally warm 35°C waters of Baños de Zújar before driving to your hotel near Guadix. Along the way, you'll explore the historic town of Guadix, its Arab citadel, cathedral, and unique cave houses, and witness the ancient dolmens of Gorafe from scenic viewpoints overlooking the Badlands. The journey continues into the Alpujarras, a region that beautifully preserves the legacy of the Moriscos and showcases a harmonious relationship between humanity and nature. You'll ascend to high mountain passes, cross terraced farms, and explore charming villages with distinctive Berber-influenced architecture. Visits to Trevélez, famous for its traditional ham, and Capileira, perched in the Poqueira Gorge, offer a taste of the region's culture and breathtaking scenery.
